Cael Waring spent twenty years running magical practice the way most people do — on conviction, without a record. Then he began applying the discipline of his working life, forensic failure analysis, to his own notebook.
A quarter of what he was doing turned out to be doing nothing at all. Two techniques he had nearly abandoned were carrying almost everything.
Dreamwalking is what survived. A complete method for waking up inside the dream — and, rare in a book like this, one rule applied to every part of it: test everything, keep what works.
What is inside
- Recall, reality testing and the wake-back-to-bed stack, with the numbers — five hours, twenty to forty-five minutes, fifteen checks a day, not “plenty of them”
- How to find your own dream signs by sorting your own journal, rather than inheriting somebody else’s list
- Building a dream temple that persists between visits
- The planetary hours, the seven kameas, and sigils constructed awake and charged asleep
- The seven ways this practice fails, how to tell which one you are in, and what to change
- Sleep paralysis: what it is, and a four-step protocol for the moment you cannot move
- Thirty nights of tracking, and how to read the page back honestly
Illustrated with thirty-two mezzotint plates, several of them working tools meant to be consulted in use: the hypnogram, the four reality checks, the planetary hours wheel, the seven kameas, and a thirty-night tracker.
A note on what is claimed
Sleep science is cited. Magical results are reported as one practitioner’s logged experience and labelled as such at every appearance. No controlled test of the material in Part Three has been run — by the author or, as far as he is aware, by anybody — and the book says so plainly. It never dresses one kind of claim as the other.
The audio companion
A guided induction of twenty-four minutes with a cue paired into it, a two-hour track for the REM window, and five pages on the protocol. Free, and gated behind nothing.
Five tracks and a five-page addendum. The protocol, the calibration and the stopping rule.
