Dreamwalking states the method. This is the book you run it in — a year of the record, laid out so that keeping it takes ninety seconds a night and reading it back takes an hour a month.
You cannot evaluate your own practice from memory. Not because you are careless, but because memory is not built for it: it keeps what was vivid and systematically deletes the ordinary nights, which means it over-weights your best few and hides the trend.
So the ordinary nights get a line here too.
What is inside
- Twelve months of night logs. Six columns, thirty-two nights to a spread: date and wake hour, recall as three circles to fill, the method you actually ran, lucid, minutes, and one line of notes.
- Ninety-six dream entries. Room for what a dream degrades fastest, with the impossibilities pulled out and tagged by category as you write them.
- A review after every month. The four counts, then the five questions, answered in writing. This is the part almost nobody does and the part that makes the rest worth keeping.
- A page for the test you are running. One thing changed, what would count as a difference, and the block dates — decided in advance, because deciding afterwards is how everybody confirms everything they already believed.
- Your own dream signs, sorted. Four times across the year, plus a blank Rose of Signs to plot them on.
- The work. Blank temple plans on a dot grid, a visit log, and sixteen working records with the date the verdict falls due.
- A year page. Twelve months of counts, plotted.
And a short reference spine, for what you need at four in the morning with the light off: the practice at a glance, the four checks, the four kinds of anomaly, the drill, and the intervals at which you are entitled to conclude something is not working.
A note on what is claimed
Every blank sheet in this book may be photocopied, as often as you like, for your own practice. A form you have run out of is not a reason to stop keeping the record.
The audio companion
A guided induction of twenty-four minutes with a cue paired into it, a two-hour track for the REM window, and five pages on the protocol. Free, and gated behind nothing.
Five tracks and a five-page addendum. The protocol, the calibration and the stopping rule.
